PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – Two people are dead, and five others were injured following a fire at Trail Apartments in Punta Gorda The fire took place at 11021 Tamiami Trail at around 7 a.m. Tuesday. Two adults and one child have been transported to a local hospital as a trauma alert. Charlotte County Fire & EMS confirmed that two locals were also transported with minor injuries. The fire is currently under control and Charlotte County Sheriff's Office deputies are on scene.
